The Redmond Campus Master Plan establishes the first long-term development plans for this software giant’s main campus in Redmond, Washington. Working with their real estate and facility leadership, it seeks to “provide the company with a competitive advantage through the workplace”. The primary purposes of the Master Plan are as follows: first, to provide a long-term framework for the company’s growth in the Overlake area of Redmond; second, to capture known information, and identify proposed strategies for future construction; third, allow the evolution of previous campus development into a cohesive, campus-like environment, and; finally, to increase certainty and predictability with the governing agencies by reducing the need for subsequent detailed planning and review procedures.
On what is likely the world’s largest corporate campus, a total of 2.2 million net new square feet is planned, whereas to date, approximately 1.5 million is either completed or under construction. The team continues to consult on potential new acquisitions, strategies, and master plan updates due to an ever evolving context and workplace demand.
